Two of the cross-members in the ladder frame showed signs of movement amidships.
This was a time when we were trying to improve the rigidity of the hull to stop the seams close to the keel opening when under sail up-wind.
Strengthening plates were made up from EN316 grade 8mm stainless steel and bolted though the frames.
Whilst the may have improved things slightly the flexing issue was not solved until major hull work in 2010. However, at least the cross members where stabilised.
See the section on hull renovation phase 2 to find out more about the flexing issue and its solution.
